Join us October 10 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and October 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Madison County Covered Bridge Festival—a celebration of community, history, and Iowa tradition! Be sure to stick around Sunday afternoon for the festival’s beloved community parade, beginning at 3 p.m.
The first Madison County Covered Bridge Festival was held in 1970, created by a group of passionate and dedicated citizens who wanted to celebrate Madison County’s rich history and iconic covered bridges. Today, the festival continues that tradition every second full weekend in October.
The Winterset courthouse square comes alive with more than 150 food and arts & crafts vendors, old-time demonstrations, live music, children’s activities, and so much more. There’s something for everyone to enjoy!
